CAN'T QUIET PRIDE (2022)

DE-CENSORING LGBTQIA / PRINT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
In a year where long-celebrated LGBTQIA+ labels faced the threat of extinction, we spent pride month un-censoring them with a series of artist-made labels and stickers to help everyone keep the conversation front and center.

With a growing number of states passing or considering anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation—including the famous “don’t say gay” bill that bans public schools from teaching about gender identity—it was important to us to provide something for the queer community to rally around during PRIDE month that could ensure people’s identities are celebrated, not muted.

+ Contributions from the Digitas NA Creatives

We commissioned LGBTQIA+ artists & allies to create a set of speech bubbles representing the many identities on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum—celebrating the community while also giving both influential and emergent queer artists a platform.

The labels were made available as digital stickers for use on social as well as physical versions that were freely available via massive sticker drops at several pride marches around the country.
